Holistic Healing

This year marks seven years since I started Rosey Lees, and looking back, it feels incredible to reflect on how far the journey has come.

When I first began, I simply wanted to help people improve their health and wellbeing through a more holistic approach. Since then, the practice has evolved in ways I never imagined, bringing opportunities to learn, grow, and support so many wonderful people along the way.

Like many businesses, Rosey Lees faced challenges during the lockdown years. However, I continued supporting clients through Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and herbal medicine consultations, helping people navigate what was an incredibly difficult time for many. When restrictions were lifted, I was able to take the next step and begin offering massage therapy from a dedicated treatment room, eventually moving into the beautiful space I work from today.

Over the past seven years, I've had the privilege of working with people of all ages and backgrounds, each with their own unique story and health journey. Every client has taught me something valuable and strengthened my belief that true wellbeing comes from looking at the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

One of the most exciting milestones in my professional development has been qualifying in reflexology. It has completely transformed the way I view the body and wellbeing. The more I learn, the more I am amazed by the body's ability to communicate what it needs when we take the time to listen and understand it. Reflexology has added another layer to the personalised support I can offer and has deepened my appreciation for complementary therapies as a whole.

The Value of Time

One thing I have come to appreciate more than ever is the importance of time.

Time to listen.

Time to understand.

Time to truly hear what someone is experiencing.

Many healthcare professionals work under immense pressure and often have limited time with each patient. One of the greatest benefits of holistic practice is being able to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, and understood. Sometimes, simply having the opportunity to talk openly about their health concerns can be the first step towards positive change.

A Personalised Approach to Wellbeing

No two people are the same, which is why I am passionate about creating personalised wellbeing plans for every client.

Rather than focusing on a single symptom, I often combine different therapies to support both physical and emotional wellbeing. Mind and body are deeply connected, and when one is struggling, the other often feels the impact.

For clients experiencing anxiety, stress, and recurring headaches, for example, I may combine EFT, reflexology, massage therapy, and carefully selected herbal remedies. Together, these therapies can help calm the nervous system, reduce physical tension, and support the body both internally and externally.

Indian Head Massage remains one of my favourite treatments to offer because of the profound sense of relaxation it can create. Working on the scalp, face, jaw, neck, and shoulders helps release accumulated tension and encourages the body to move into a calmer, more balanced state.

There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing a client arrive feeling overwhelmed and leave looking lighter, calmer, and more at ease. Those moments never lose their magic.

Reflexology has further enhanced my ability to tailor treatments to individual needs. By working specific reflex points, I can gain additional insight into areas of the body that may benefit from support and integrate this knowledge into a wider wellbeing plan.

Ultimately, my goal is always the same: to support the whole person, encourage balance, and empower clients to take an active role in their own wellbeing.

The Reward of Seeing Change

One of the greatest privileges of my work is witnessing the positive changes that can happen when people receive the right support.

Over the years, I have worked with many clients living with long-term conditions, including lipedema and fibromyalgia. Seeing improvements in comfort, mobility, confidence, and overall quality of life is incredibly rewarding.

The trust my clients place in me is something I value deeply, and hearing them share their progress and successes continues to inspire me every day.

Holistic and Conventional Healthcare Working Together

I firmly believe that holistic therapies and conventional medicine each have an important role to play in supporting health and wellbeing.

Rather than existing separately, I believe the greatest benefits often come when both approaches work alongside one another. Conventional medicine offers invaluable diagnosis, treatment, and medical expertise, while holistic therapies can provide additional support that addresses emotional wellbeing, lifestyle factors, and quality of life.

Many clients have shared their progress with their doctors and specialists and have been encouraged by the positive feedback they receive. Some healthcare professionals have even expressed interest in learning more about the therapies I offer.

These experiences have reinforced my belief that healthcare is at its best when practitioners from different disciplines work with mutual respect and a shared goal of supporting the individual.

Looking Ahead

As I celebrate seven years of Rosey Lees, I feel incredibly grateful.

Grateful for every client who has trusted me, every lesson I have learned, and every opportunity I have had to help someone feel healthier, happier, and more connected to their wellbeing.

The journey continues to evolve, and I remain committed to learning, growing, and expanding the ways I can support those who come through my door.

At the heart of Rosey Lees has always been a simple belief: when we take the time to listen, treat each person as an individual, and support both mind and body, meaningful change can happen.
