Celebrating My Daughter’s Journey: From Challenges at School to Becoming a Qualified Gel Nail Practitioner

As a parent, one of the most rewarding things is watching your child discover their passions and step into their own potential. My daughter, at just 16 years old, has had her fair share of challenges with school life. Being neurodiverse, with both ASD and ADHD, the traditional path of education hasn’t always been easy for her. The idea of moving straight on to college at this stage felt overwhelming — and as her mum, I knew we had to find a way to support her in doing something she truly loves, while continuing her education from home until she turns 18.

That’s when we decided to take a slightly different route. She had already been practising gel nails on friends and family for a while, and it was something that lit her up every single time. So, we enrolled her on an accredited Gel Nail Practitioner course — and she absolutely smashed it!

Now, she proudly holds her qualification in gel nails, and we couldn’t be happier for her. But this is just the beginning of her journey. To build her confidence and gain more experience, she has decided to launch her very own little nail business.
